This was what I drove up there for. Top of the World Tour in Whitehall. Met up with my old friend Pete and tackled the ride together. Had a blast. Ride started in Whitehall, we cut over to Independence and skipped the small loop that would have been the 60 mile route – we figured ~43 would probably be enough :) Took the loop out of Independence and was promptly educated on climbing in this part of the state – ugh. From there, back south of Indy up Square Bluff – the highest road in the county. What a view!!!!!! A quick drop down to the scenic Fagerness Church, then a few miles back into Whitehall. 43.77 miles, 3036′ of climbing, and a max speed of 48.9 mph. I’d call that a good day. Was great to get to ride with Pete again – been way too long since we’d been biking.
